As well as physical exercise, dogs love to use their brains. The dog walker can offer group training sessions for the whole family using positive reward based techniques so training is not just a lot of fun but helps you to develop your bond with your dog.

All our training is based on modern techniques, using positive training methods without the need for force, aggression or methods that cause pain. Positive training ensures that the bond is developed not damaged and ultimately gives more rewarding and longer lasting results.

Many people cannot consider having a dog due to work restraints or are too elderly or unwell to give dogs the exercise that they need on a regular basis. At The dog walker we are here to give you the opportunity to enjoy your best friend safe in the knowledge that they are getting the exercise they require in a protected and caring environment.

All new recruits are pre-vetted so you can be sure that your dog is enjoying him or herself with other like minded dogs, giving them the most rewarding exercise and socialisation which as pack animals they love. Individual sessions are also offered for those that prefer a little bit of peace and quiet.

Behaviour training:

It is usually possible to change negative behaviour, reduce anxiety and help your dog to become more relaxed with people and other dogs. Our Intermediate Group is a great extension from the Puppy/Beginner Training reinforcing and developing the skills already acquired as well as exploring the wider world of techniques and opportunities for having fun with your dog that training offers.

  • Home Behavioural Consultations:

  • Dogs do change and go through different phases in life, some dogs are effected by things that have happened in the past or by more recent experiences. If your dog is displaying a behaviour that is affecting your bond, call me. Dogs can be taught alternative behaviours and dogs can be helped to cope with stress. Don’t struggle alone. Let me help you rebuild your relationship, or simply give you techniques to get the best out of your most important relationship.

  • 1-2-1 Training

  • This can be can be more suitable for some families and their dogs and can be used to concentrate on shaping or re-shaping a particular aspect of behaviour. This is particularly useful if the dog has patterns of behaviour which need to be modified, such as destroying anything within reach, or to encourage them in to coming back when they have spotted a squirrel!
